Smt. Sunita Pawar, Age – 38 year, no education, a member of Jijau Mata Self-Help Group, formed on 16/04/2018 with 11 members, started monthly saving of Rs.100/- Smt. Sunita Pawar is a Chair Person of Jijau Mata Self-Help Group.
The SHG has a Bank Account in Bank of India, Shirur branch, Account No. 0603101100304 The SHG also received a revolving fund of Rs.15000/- from District Rural Development Agency (DRDA)
Smt. Sunitatai married with a specially abled person. Sunita have one son and two daughters out of which one has been married. The daily household expenses are met out of daily wages and fishing.
The SHG has Rs.6000/- saving and revolving fund of Rs.15,000/- put together Rs.21,000/- to their credit. Sunita took loan of Rs.3,000/- and purchased 50 chickens, she was oriented and trained in vaccination. She again bought 50 chickens. She has now started selling eggs and hens. She is now earning though sale of eggs and sale of hens.
Sunita’s hard efforts have paid dividend in true sense!!!
The Child friendly Aanganwadi, with basic improvements in health / hygiene / sanitation facilities like water availability, space for cooking up mid day meal, toilet facilities, educational toys resulted in :-

Alka, got married at an early age having 3 children. Her livelihood depended only on daily wages labour. Alka’s daughter left her education mid-way. Her girl child is studying in 6th standard and younger male child in 2nd standard. She was a scrap seller. The merge income had compelled the family members for sleepless nights on many occasions.
Alka became a member of Jijau Mata Self Help group on 12/11/2018. Alka also got a boat in November 2018.
Alka first took a loan of Rs.4,000/- and bought fishing net. Today Alka is daily earring around Rs.350-450. With this daily earning, She has been able to address her daily needs but also to address issues related to education, health and sanitation to name a few.
ALKA now confidently says that She has found a solution to struggle against life.
Smt. Usha Barde Age – 29 year, no education, a member of Jijau Mata Self-Help Group ,formed on 16/04/2018 with 11 members, started monthly saving of Rs.100/-
Usha Barde age 29, lost her husband 12 years back. She settled down with her maternal parents at Samtanagar. Unfortunately, her son was compelled to leave his education at 7th standard and he decided to help his mother.
Usha, unlike other household, could not migrate like other families and She was also unable to move out due to social discrimination, being a widow.
Usha expressed her difficulties that being an widow, She could get on to the traditional income generation activity i.e. Fishing.
Usha lost her mother in between. Usha also got a boat in November 2018. Now her father and son go out for fishing and she could sale up to Rs.300 – 450/- daily. Her son has started re-schooling and now studying in 9th standard.
With the loan of Rs.5,000/- from the SHG, She has purchased fishing net and thus helping herself and her family in enhancement in daily earnings.
Smt. Sangita Anil Barde, Age – 35 year, Family No. 23, no education, a member of Pimpaldari Yedaimata SHG, formed on 25/05/2018 with 10 members, started monthly saving of Rs.100/-

Sangita and her son resident of Samata Nagar, had a tough time as the only means for her livelihood was fishing and daily wages earnings. However both of these had limitations due to drought proven conditions in village Tardobachi Wadi.
Sangita during her, various community level meetings decided to be a part of Pimpaldari SHG with Rs.100 saving per month. The SHG was formed in May 2018. She could resolved and addressed her minor household issues through various community meetings.
Pimpaldari SHG additionally received a revolving fund of Rs.15000/-from District Rural Development Agency (DRDA)
As a part of Project Swavalamban intervention, she was suggested and guided to apply for a grant of Rs.20,000/-, for purchase of 2 Goats from Women and Child Development Division, Panchayat Samiti Shirur. Her application was considered, and with this support, She could additionally purchase 2 more goats.
With this support, She has a livestock of Rs.40,000/- only. We can now see a Smile on Sangita’s face. More importantly she has successfully regained and restored her respect and social status .
The right selection of income generation activity has brought out a Change in her life.
Ms. Reshma Sayyed, 25, years Old. Residing at New Gauam Nagar, Part No. 3, Near Devnar Kattalkhana, Govandi, Mumbai- 400043 Member Hamari Saheli Self Help Group, Gautam Nagar, Govandi, Mumbai.
Ms. Reshma Sayyed is from an orthodox community, where the community does not allow women for outside work. Ms. Reshma Sayyed met Mrs. Kanade, who gave the information about Project Garima - House Keeping Training at Ghartkopar. She also gave Ms. Reshma, contact no of Ms. Shaila Salvi, Co-ordinator STAPI Mumbai for more details of Project Garima Ms. Reshma Sayyed contacted Ms. Shaila Salvi and expressed her interest for attending the 06 days House Keeping training at Ghatkopar. Ms. Reshama Sayyed attended first batch of House - keeping Training during 5th – 10th December,2017 at “Sealed Air Ltd. Ghatkopar (W), Mumbai.
Ms. Reshama Sayyed was quiet and little shy on the first day of the training however on second day, She started actively participating as her confidence was boosted. She successfully completed the training interview process and was placed at Satra plaza in December 2016. She is now empowered, self-reliant and more confident. She thanks STAPI for giving her opportunity for the skill training and employment opportunity.
