- PROMOTIONAL:
Promoting the establishment of new Voluntary Organisations (VOs)
and encouraging the expansion of existing ones by appropriate
assistance for financial, technical and human resource
development.
- PROJECT PREPARATION AND
GRANT-IN-AID:
Supporting the Voluntary Organisations in the areas of project
formulation, preparation Project management implementation &
monitoring including reporting documentation and evaluation.
- CAPACITY BUILDING OF NGOs:
Conduct of capacity building training programmes for the NGOs
working in the diverse field of Social Sectors.
- INFORMATION ON FUNDING:
To disseminate information about likely sources of funds, both
national and international. Exclusive Capacity building training
programmes in resource mobilization.
- MATCH MAKING:
Networking and exploring funding avenues for needy and
deserving NGOs.
- HELPING NEW VA's:
Helping new Voluntary Agencies (Vas) with registration under
society & Trust , Statutory requirements of Charity Commissioner’s
office; Government procedures, both Central and State, other
statuary requirements in areas like Income Tax, the Trusts Act,
etc.
- MANAGEMENT TRAINING:
Upgrading of management skills through courses, publications,
workshops and consultancy services.

mainly focused on :-

aspects of management and development of Human Resources.
- Training and re-coordination of
NGOs in social sectors and family welfare.
- Training NGOs in financial
planning and resources mobilization.
- Training staff / executives of
large donor organizations undertaking support programmes.
- Training of volunteers desirous
of assisting NGOs.
- Facilities for studies /
research in the NGO sector.
- Training and orientation for
Government staff to accept NGOs as partners in development.

STAPI as a Mother NGO in Reproductive
& Child Health Projects-II (RCH)
Sosva Training and Promotion Institute
(STAPI) as MNGO is implementing RCH II project in Pune & Raigad
districts of Maharashtra with the support of 6 partner NGOs's from
Pune and Raigad District.
SOSVA had implemented the RCH-I programme in the first phase
(1998-2002) through 26 FNGOs. Due to the decentralization of the
Revised RCH II scheme, STAPI as MNGO has been allotted only two
districts for implementation of the RCH –II project.

Training Infrastructure
STAPI has its own training infrastructure in Pune, designed to train
key personnel from NGOs. This Training institute is well equipped
with a wide range of equipments and facilities for conducting
training courses, seminars, conferences, lectures, business meets
etc. the facilities include:
Two seminar halls fully equipped with Training Audio Visual
equipments including a Colour TV, VCR, VCD, Public Address System,
Overhead Projector, Slides Projector, Inverter Backup Support, etc
and well furnished Hostel Accommodation including Boarding for the
participants.
With a view to strengthen the infrastructure and increase the
services available at the Training institute and more importantly,
to utilize the spare capacity STAPI has decided to make the Training
facilities available to other NGOs, govt. departments, companies,
etc. for their training programmes, conferences, seminars, dealer
meets and the like.
